Commissions

You bring the occasion, I’ll bring the grid.

Paintings and written stories, made to order, and cultural projects made for a whole community: a griha pravesham, a naming ceremony, a pooja room, a Golu, a library case, or a wall that has been waiting too long.

How a commission runs

01 · Inquiry

You send the form below. I reply with questions, a quote and a realistic date.

02 · Sketch and plan

A proportion sketch for art pieces, or a scope and schedule for cultural projects, for your approval before work begins.

03 · Making

Progress photos at each stage, so you see it grow.

04 · Delivery

Framed, shipped, picked up in Fremont, or installed on site. Ideally in time for the muhurtham.

Tell me what it’s for. Budgets and dates are fine as rough guesses; we refine together.

Thank you. The kolam has its first dot.

I’ll reply with questions and a quote soon.

Good questions

Can I choose the deity, shlokam or motif?

Yes. Bring a reference or a family tradition; I’ll work out the proportions and the composition with you.

Which scripts do you letter in?

Siddham, Kannada and Tamil. Send the shlokam or name as you say it at home, and I’ll check the spelling with you before the ink goes down.

Do you take on group or organisation projects?

Yes. Schools, libraries, temples and cultural associations are welcome. Tell me your audience, venue and date, and I’ll come back with a scope, schedule and quote.

What if I need it for a festival date?

Tell me the date up front. Most craft and paintings needs drying time that no deadline can negotiate with, so it would be good to plan earlier! Thank you!
